Start of our first project

Our first full official day of work in Mobile, and work is what we did.  The day started with some physical training led by yours truly @ 6:30am. We ran to a local church about .3 miles away and did a nasty ab workout that my team loved me for, obviously. Came back, showered, and headed to Habitat for Humanity headquarters.  We were briefed about our project and met some important people, although we were eager to get started so headed out to the job site pretty quickly.  Myself and 3 other team members (Sarah, Ruth, and Karie) were chosen to stay and finish a house habitat was building.  I specifically requested this because there was painting, spackling, and caulking involved which I have plenty of experience doing via Damons Painting!  It was fun to work with my team and teach them stuff I learned, they seemed like they genuinely wanted to learn the painting tricks of the trade.  It was weird from my work experience where everything had to be perfect, going to a volunteer site where everything was...not so perfect.  The house site leader acknowledged my awesome painting and spackling capabilities and were happy to tell me I would be coming back tomorrow to finish up there.  So that's what I'll be doing tomorrow! Although I already got white paint on my uniform and I'm only 1 day in! That can't be good foresight for whats to come... So far this project in Mobile has been spoiling me... first the legit housing with 3 bathrooms and ample space for our team, then I still have internet access via my droid, then the excess food budget money that habitat is providing for us, and to top it off on my first day we do the one thing I'm actually experienced with (painting). Don't think I could have asked for a better start to this project! Also for this project we will be working during the week and have off sunday and monday, however for labor day they are giving us a 3 day weekend starting saturday so monday our team is heading to the ocean and hitting up the beach! Hopefully no oil is there so we can get our swim on... we shall see. Alright I'm exhausted from today, waking up and working 8-4 tomorrow and trying to get the rest of that painting done... Throwing up some random pics as well. Oh and shout-outs to River 5 making the ABC local news for their disaster relief project!! KABOOM!

edit: ran again for over 2 miles today, this cardio thing is getting easier... hopefully something can be done about a gym come this weekend.
